Student Feedback from Course:
“Fascinating course material. Joyously shared, at a manageable pace in this hectic world. For me this course was timely and transformational. I cannot recommend the experience highly enough. Sarah has a warm, person-centred approach which I found extremely supportive. She nurtured our understanding and skill levels over the course so that we felt ready to continue our studies or become practitioners as we desired." - Ann
“What I learnt on the sound healing course is some of the most important teachings I've had in my life. It helped me to find my true calling, purpose and opportunity to serve. The experience was complimented by Sarah who was my teacher. Her friendship, knowledge, patience, experience, coupled with her training in music was a real benefit and treat. The courses were held with much love and wisdom and pace of the weekends were well balanced between learning, experience and softer integration and grounding opportunities.
I've always felt a strong pull to express myself through music and sound but up until I did this course, I had not found my true calling . Sarah's teaching, patience and knowledge were instrumental to helping me on my path and something I am deeply grateful to her for.” - Giles
“It has been SO enlightening, transformational, uplifting, and will change me forever. THANK YOU for your presence, your joy, your commitment to sacred sound and for offering this course. You are such a beautiful soul and will be alongside me as I take this work forward forever.”
- Suzanne

The College of Sound Healing Gong Practitioner Training Course© is a CMA-certificated training programme over five weekends, over the period of one year. This comprises 70 hours formal training, plus practise, coursework, reading and mentoring in-between sessions. Completing this course gives you the information, knowledge, tools and qualification - acceptable anywhere in the world - to be a Gong Practitioner able to treat clients in a therapeutic setting both on a one-to-one basis or in groups.
The Course was written for the College by Sheila Whittaker, who is the senior College Gong tutor, and advisor to the College on all matters gong-related. The world of the Gong and its use for healing is a fascinating and relatively little-known subject. This Course aims to bring together and impart as much relevant knowledge and wisdom, ancient and new, as is possible in the time allotted for the Course. Some of this knowledge was lost in the mists of time and has been rediscovered during the last century. The Gong teachings are extensive and need time for participants to assimilate. This is best done in a Course run over the period of a year, to allow more comfortable integration of the powerful energies involved. Participants are guided throughout the Course by an experienced, caring, supportive tutor, and encouraged to do their own reading and studies between sessions to further promote their training.
Steph only takes a certain number of students on the Course each year, so that she has the time and opportunity to mentor each one individually.
Students are allotted coursework and case studies between the formal sessions to enable them to practise working with clients, thus honing their skills and techniques, and gaining confidence and expertise before they venture into the world to offer their services professionally. There is a short written exam at the end.
Doing the Course over the period of a year also enables the participants to embark on their own healing journey with the gongs - to do their own inner emotional and self development work - so that they can clear much of their own "stuff" and clear their own energy vibration before they start to treat others. This is essential when you are working in a therapeutic capacity - we need to be able to provide a strongly held safe, supportive space for our clients, and know that when the gongs inevitably do their clearing work during a gong bath, that we can be fully present to support clients in their healing process.
Each participant will need to have the use of their own gong by the 2nd weekend session. Guidance on choice of gong will be given during Session 1.
Price - £290 per session (£1450 in total) A deposit of £100 secures your place on the course, with the balance for Session 1 and each of the remaining Sessions due a month beforehand.
Location - The course is held in the rural, peaceful and beautiful Treflach Farm, near Oswestry on the English Welsh border. Not just a magical space, but a working farm and community hub, there is free parking and plenty of outside space for reflection in nature.
This course is not residential, but there is some accommodation available on the farm, including rooms, glamping and camping (tents and vans).
Hot drinks are included, but please bring a packed lunch.

The course tutor has over 30 years experience of teaching in a variety of settings and you will experience a range of styles and approaches to enable you to gain the very best from this course. To maximise learning and meet individual needs, course numbers will be small and you will be offered individual support and mentoring throughout.
Coursework and case studies are required between the formal taught sessions. This enables students to develop skills and techniques and to grow in confidence and competence. Full support is provided by the tutor who also fosters a supportive ethos, encouraging students to support one another.

This Course was written for the College by Sheila Whittaker, who is the senior College Gong Tutor, and advisor to the College on all gong-related matters.
Working with the Gong is a powerful personal journey. The various learning and experience opportunities require time for students to assimilate. As this course is taught over a year, each student is able to learn and develop at their own pace. The non-rushed nature of this course also supports students on their own individual Healing journey with the Gong. Clearing our own emotional baggage and raising vibration is a prerequisite for helping others to do so and you will be fully supported as you undertake that challenging but deeply rewarding inner work.
Each participant will need access to their own Gong by the 2nd weekend and support in selecting the best Gong for you will be given during Session 1.
Price - £290 per session (£1450 in total) A deposit of £100 secures your place on the course, with the balance for Session 1 and each of the remaining Sessions due a month beforehand.

Shamanism is an ancient healing practice that focuses on our connection to nature and all things; and on the well-being of self, each other and the planet. It evolved with and in humans, instinctively, and has been practiced in very similar forms, all around the world, for thousands of years. It is our original medicine, with sound, and all vibration, at its core.
This course will run at the following times on both weekends:
Saturday 10am - 5pm & Sunday 10am - 4pm.
Part Two will be held on Saturday 12 October & Sunday 13 October 2023.
Students will require their own drum and rattle for the course. These will be available to buy on the day for those yet without. Happy to lend to anyone who might find it difficult to bring theirs along to the venue. Just let me know in advance.

The village institute is tucked away in a leafy location, within easy walking distance of the beach, village centre and train station, which connects to the mainline at Lancaster.
With plenty of local accommodation, including camping and glamping options, Silverdale offers the ideal backdrop for our gathering. The institute has it's own kitchen, car park and field. Waterproofs are advised just in case, but it's always a lovely place to be, rain or shine. Please bring a pillow and blanket, aswell as a packed lunch for each day. "I left your course with an excellent practical understanding of how to be a sound healing/voice practitioner, from advertising myself as a therapist to how an actual treatment session works. The reading and assignments you set gave me a solid grounding in the theory behind sound therapy and gave me great tools for speaking with clients (potential and actual) about how and why sound can help them. Your feedback was always helpful and thorough and you were very patient and knowledgable. The classes were an excellent mix of theory and practice" - Jenn (Canada)

All the COSH gong tutors cover the same information and training content during the Course; however the Course schedule may differ slightly between individual tutors from Session to Session. For this reason it is recommended to stay with the same tutor for the entirety of the Course.

Each participant will need access to their own Gong by the 2nd weekend and support in selecting the best Gong for you will be given during Session 1.

shamanic healing practitioner training course
HELEN SMITH · Silverdale, Lancashire
Silverdale Village Institute, 27 Spring Bank, Silverdale, Lancashire, LA5 0TE.
Weekend One — 20th & 21st April 2024
Silverdale lies in an idyllic part of north Lancashire, boasting views across Morecambe Bay to the Lakeland Fells. It is home to ancient woodland, limestone pavements and RSPB Leighton Moss.
Refreshments and light snacks will be provided.
Cost is 2 x £300 per weekend = £600 in total.
Get in touch for more info, bookings, or details for payment. I look forward to welcoming you!

Alexandra: "A wonderful experience covering all the necessary tools a person needs to become a sound healing practitioner. The emphasis is on the practical side which for me was so important as to be a practitioner one needs to learn how to ‘practise’. It was a year of enlightenment!"
