DETAILS : The weekend will integrate the healing power of nature into our healing voice work. We will work with the sounding traditions of people that lived close to nature and used sound to deepen their connection with their environment. Primrose Haven contains many beautiful gardens and natural spaces. The course will be held in the Sound Peace Chamber, the Celtic Roundhouse and in some outside spaces such as the Peace Garden, the Stone Circle with the four directions and elements, the Emissary Wheel and beside a mountain stream in the nearby woods. We will explore some of the deeper healing potential of nature and use sound to connect with this.

We will gain an understanding of the qualities of the elements - fire, water, earth and air - and explore our relationships to them and the way they influence our lives.

We will demonstrate the ways that sound can be used to heal ourselves and others and the healing power of sound in nature. Nature can provide a very supportive environment in which to release pain and disharmony through sound. We will work with this potential on an individual and group level.

We will share our experience of the Damanhur projects of the Music of the Plants and Orienting Trees to help raise the global network of tree consciousness.

DETAILS : This workshop is the first module of the Sound Healing with the Drum course but can be taken as a stand-alone workshop. In this first weekend, we will be creating Sacred Space and learning about the Medicine Wheel. Cleansing our space, sacred tools and energy field will also be covered. Then we will learn dowsing with the drum and how to work with a rattle, learning how to give ourselves self-healing. It will be a fun and welcoming circle, with songs and drum circle too. 

This weekend is a good taster of what is to come for the rest of the practitioner course and the option is open to continue with the rest of the course.

Laughton Lodge is a co-housing community in the East Sussex countryside, with 23 acres of land overlooking the South Downs and close to the sea. There is a natural spring and it is a beautifully peaceful setting for all the animals living there. The ethos of the community is based on respect and sustainability. A beautiful place with a creative energy to learn, laugh, and connect with nature. 

There are very reasonably priced simple rooms available in Laughton Lodge itself and a large car park. There are plenty of other accommodation options in the area and many places of beauty and interest nearby. 

Sound Healing with the Drum Practitioner Course:

Aoife and Sandie (both qualified Sacred Drumming Tutors trained by Steven and Renata Ash) look forward to welcoming you onto this year long course where you will dive deeply into connection with your drum, nature and your Spirit within. You will be learning how to give Sound Healing sessions with the drum, but also go on a deep journey of self-healing in the process.

This course is based on a traditional Lakota Grandfather Wallace Black Elk North Native American form of healing and lineage working with power animals and helping spirits, drumming, rattling, offering prayers and sacred chants.  

You will learn various healing techniques including shamanic power animal retrieval and soul retrieval on part 1 and soul energy release; intrusion removal or extraction and rattle healing on part 2. 

Shamanic Soul Retrieval enables people suffering from soul loss, which is an energetic fragmentation of the self, due to trauma, back to wholeness, through returning these lost soul fragments. Soul loss can be described as a self-mechanism to shield and protect you from the pain of trauma.

Within Shamanic practice, losing soul fragments essentially means losing your life force energy which is extremely disempowering. If the soul is not restored, the body can become so imbalanced that it causes mental, emotional, or physical disease.

During a Shamanic healing, we are either removing energy within our client that does not belong to them or we are returning energy that is outside our client that belongs within them such as their lost soul parts.

In our modern-day world, we are experiencing an epidemic of soul loss on a collective level. This may well be the cause of many of the issues that are detrimentally affecting our society today. Examples of such widespread issues include crime, disease, abusive relationships, addiction and mental health issues.

We feel more like ourselves when we are complete and whole in the present. Soul retrieval is one of the most effective Shamanic Healing methods. If you lose a soul part, it’s like a whole part of you is lost, as your split off soul part is like a holographic piece of you. 

When soul loss occurs, it may cause openings and gaps in your auric field. By returning your client’s soul part, you are essentially helping to restore their auric field and repair any tears that the soul loss caused.

There is lots of hands on with the bowls, you will do mini sessions on each other, and learn how to give a sound treatment to a family member and indeed yourself. DETAILS : A fun day introducing you to working with the Voice, we will work as a group over the day, learning voice warm ups, what is sound healing and how does it work on the Human Energy System.  We will look a little at the Energy System and how using sound we can work using the voice to bring balance back into energy and physical body.  We will be working with toning the chakras, the importance of the correct breathing patterns, and the importance of listening.  We will be doing meditations, free toning, toning a persons name and the importance of grounding.  We will have a great day of sounding together, no experience is required, as we will take you on a journey of using your voice for yourself and others.

DETAILS : The Crystal Bowl and Himalayan Bowl Practitioner Training is taken over three weekends with a three month period between each weekend. Completion of the training will give the participants the knowledge and tools required to become a Crystal Bowl and Himalayan Bowl Practitioner.

In Module One we will be looking at Sound Healing in general, and then start to learn and work with crystal bowls, the energy system and crystal bowls, cleansing, programming and working one-to-one as a therapy.  WE will also be working with a pendulum and learning to dowse the Chakras and Energy System.  

Module Two covers working with Himalayan Bowls one-to-one, we look at the different types, how they are made, playing techniques and advanced techniques and layouts. There will be plenty of practice time on this course with your fellow students.

In Module Three we will be looking at working with Groups and Sound Healing. Choosing a location, cost of venues and booking, cleansing and protecting the healing space, public awareness during sound bath, insurance. Different techniques working with various sounds, shruti box and voice during a sound bath. Advertising the event, Energy Splits and Spirals and working with people with life limiting conditions,  plus lots more.

In order to be awarded a Practitioner Certificate a total of 18 case studies will need to be completed and there will be an assessment on giving a group sound bath which is covered on Part Three. The Training Course is run in Bedfordshire it is based upon hands-on experiential training and students get support from highly experienced Tutors.

PART ONE : GONG PRACTITIONER TRAINING

DETAILS : The College of Sound Healing Gong Practitioner Training Course© is a CMA-certificated training programme over five weekends, over the period of one year. This comprises 70 hours formal training, plus practise, coursework, reading and mentoring in-between sessions. Completing this course gives you the information, knowledge, tools and qualification - acceptable anywhere in the world - to be a Gong Practitioner able to treat clients in a therapeutic setting both on a one-to-one basis or in groups.

The Course was written for the College by Sheila Whittaker, who is the senior College Gong tutor, and advisor to the College on all matters gong-related. ​ The world of the Gong and its use for healing is a fascinating and relatively little-known subject. This Course aims to bring together and impart as much relevant knowledge and wisdom, ancient and new, as is possible in the time allotted for the Course. Some of this knowledge was lost in the mists of time and has been rediscovered during the last century. The Gong teachings are extensive and need time for participants to assimilate. This is best done in a Course run over the period of a year, to allow more comfortable integration of the powerful energies involved. Participants are guided throughout the Course by an experienced, caring, supportive tutor, and encouraged to do their own reading and studies between sessions to further promote their training.

Steph only takes a certain number of students on the Course each year, so that she has the time and opportunity to mentor each one individually.

Students are allotted coursework and case studies between the formal sessions to enable them to practise working with clients, thus honing their skills and techniques, and gaining confidence and expertise before they venture into the world to offer their services professionally. There is a short written exam at the end.

Doing the Course over the period of a year also enables the participants to embark on their own healing journey with the gongs - to do their own inner emotional and self development work - so that they can clear much of their own "stuff" and clear their own energy vibration before they start to treat others. This is essential when you are working in a therapeutic capacity - we need to be able to provide a strongly held safe, supportive space for our clients, and know that when the gongs inevitably do their clearing work during a gong bath, that we can be fully present to support clients in their healing process.

Each participant will need to have the use of their own gong by the 2nd weekend session. Guidance on choice of gong will be given during Session 1.

Price - £290 per session (£1450 in total) A deposit of £100 secures your place on the course, with the balance for Session 1 and each of the remaining Sessions due a month beforehand.

Location - The course is held in the rural, peaceful and beautiful Treflach Farm, near Oswestry on the English Welsh border.  Not just a magical space, but a working farm and community hub, there is free parking and plenty of outside space for reflection in nature. 

This course is not residential, but there is some accommodation available on the farm, including rooms, glamping and camping (tents and vans).

What you may need to know before you arrive:

It is helpful if participants have had some experience or knowledge of healing and voice work, you do not need to be a musician or be able to sing in tune. Please contact to me to chat about your suitability if you need any assurances that its right for you.

The five modules will take you on a journey through this ancient form of healing, giving you an understanding of how to use Sound for your own wellbeing and how to administer it to others. This core training primarily uses the Voice and Tuning Forks. Additional instruments can be explored within the two additional workshops required as part of the training.

PART ONE serves as an introduction to using the voice for healing, and helps the participant connect to their voice with breathing techniques and exercises. It should be noted that a musical background is not required for this training, just a willingness to connect to the voice and sound it!

FROM PART TWO onwards,  students will need to become student members of the College in order to gain insurance to carry out case studies. It will also be necessary to purchase C and G Tuning Forks at this stage.

The course is a balance of theory and practical.

All modules will be held at the Harmony Hub, Chorley.  Parking is subject to a charge directly opposite the centre.  There is easy road access to the M6, M61 and M65 and easy rail access.

I devised this workshop because I found that many Himalayan bowl healers, and those who have just bought a bowl because they liked the sound, aren't always aware of the potential of their bowls.  It isn't essential to do the workshop to become a good healer with bowls (the practitioner course covers this), but for those who love Himalayan bowls my aim is that the workshop adds another dimension.

DETAILS : The Crystal Bowl and Himalayan Bowl Practitioner Training is taken over three weekends with approximately three months between each weekend. Completion of the training will give the participants the knowledge and tools required to become a Crystal Bowl and Himalayan Bowl Practitioner.

In Module One we will be looking at Sound Healing in general, and then start to learn and work with crystal bowls, the energy system and crystal bowls, cleansing, programming and working one-to-one as a therapy.

Module Two covers working with Himalayan Bowls one-to-one, we look at the different types, how they are made, playing techniques and advanced techniques and layouts. There will be plenty of practice time on this course with your fellow students.

In Module Three we will be looking at working with Groups and Sound Healing. Choosing a location, cost of venues and booking, cleansing and protecting the healing space, public awareness during sound bath, insurance. Different techniques working with various sounds, instruments and voice during a sound bath. Advertising the event plus lots more.

In order to be awarded a Practitioner Certificate a total of 18 case studies will need to be completed and there will be an assessment on giving a group sound bath which is covered on Part Three.

The Training Course takes place at a charming venue just outside Exeter in Devon.   It is based upon hands-on experiential training and students get support from a highly experienced Tutor.

DETAILS : This Introduction day can serve as a 1 day workshop for CoSH members who would like to add to their current course or as an Introduction to the 2 weekend course which will be delivered later on in the year.
We will begin with a welcome and introduction of everyone, followed by calling in the 7 Shamanic directions and opening of sacred space.

1) The Medicine wheel. We will cover the basics of the wheel and how to set it up when doing your sessions.

2) We will do a Drum Journey so you can meet your Power animals or helping spirits that you'll need when doing Soul Retrieval.

3) What is Soul Retrieval?

-Lunch- Please bring your own lunch bearing in mind nut and other allergies. There is a small Sainsburys over the road from the venue or we have a cool box in which to keep things fresh. There is a kettle for hot drinks.

You will need to bring with you -
1) A yoga mat or something similar to lay down on. A cushion and blanket, water and notebook. The course books are included in the cost of the course and you will be sent a booking form to register and sign up for the 2 weekends.
2) You will need to bring a framed drum, beater and rattles. Please do not worry if you don't yet have one, I have a few spares which will be handed out on a 1st come 1st served basis. Framed drums are available from Sound Travels, Knock on Wood and/or Heron Drums.

Please note, you will already need to have experience in an holistic healing modality such as Reiki prior to taking this course.

HEALING VOICE IMMERSION WORKSHOP

DETAILS : The intention of this day is to leave the world at the door and immerse ourselves in the sound of our healing voice.
This day is fully experiential and offers an opportunity to immerse yourself in the vibrational qualities of your authentic self via your authentic sound.

We will join in group sounding sessions to include the following:

• Movement and Vocal Warm Ups
• Vocal Toning and Vocal Play with and without Shruti box accompaniment (Voice Bathing)
• Vocal Toning Healing in pairs
• Mantra Chanting and Harmonies
• Rhythmic Sounds and Voice

• Chanting and Singing with Drums and Rattles

PREREQUISITES: It is helpful if participants have had some experience of healing and voice work, musicianship is not required, just a willingness to connect to your voice and sound. It is important that you are in reasonable health both mentally and physically. Please contact to discuss if you are uncertain.

The five modules will take you on a journey through this ancient form of healing, giving you an understanding of how to use Sound for your own wellbeing and how to administer it to others. This core training primarily uses the Voice and Tuning Forks.

Additional instruments can be explored within the two additional workshops required as part of the training.

PART ONE can be taken as a standalone workshop and serves as an introduction to using the voice for healing, and helps the participant connect to their voice with breathing techniques, vocal exercises, meditations, chant and more. It should be noted that a musical background is not required for this training, just a willingness to connect to the voice and sound it!

FROM PART TWO students will need to become student members of the College in order to gain insurance to carry out case studies. It will also be necessary to purchase C and G Tuning Forks at this stage.

The course is a balance of theory and practical.

WHERE: All modules will be held at the beautiful Green Door Centre in Bosham, West Sussex. The venue set in its own dedicated, peaceful grounds, with abundant country side and close to the sea. The centre is home to a mediation sanctuary, stone circle, peaceful walks and yurt. The course takes place in the hall at the centre of the venue.

The training is non-residential.

MODULE ONE : BOWL PRACTITIONER TRAINING

DETAILS : This course is taken over three weekends with a three month period between each weekend. Completion of the training will give the participants the knowledge and tools required to become a Crystal Bowl and Himalayan Bowl Practitioner.

In Module One we will be looking at Sound Healing in general, and then start to learn and work with crystal bowls, the energy system and crystal bowls, cleansing, programming and working one-to-one as a therapy.

Module Two covers working with Himalayan Bowls one-to-one, we look at the different types, how they are made, playing techniques and advanced techniques and layouts. There will be plenty of practice time on this course with your fellow students.

In Module Three we will be looking at working with Groups and Sound Healing. Choosing a location, cost of venues and booking, cleansing and protecting the healing space, public awareness during sound bath, insurance. Different techniques working with various sounds, instruments and voice during a sound bath. Advertising the event plus lots more.

In order to be awarded a Practitioner Certificate a total of 18 case studies will need to be completed and there will be an assessment on giving a group sound bath which is covered on Part Three.

DETAILS : Taught at The Harmony Hub in Lancashire, this course is located just off the M6 and M61 motorways and is accessible by rail and coach. There is ample free car parking opposite the venue.  

Though the course is non-residential, affordable accommodation is available nearby. Lunches and other daytime refreshments are included in the course costs.

The course tutor has over 30 years experience of teaching in a variety of settings and you will experience a range of styles and approaches to enable you to gain the very best from this course. To maximise learning and meet individual needs, course numbers will be small and you will be offered individual support and mentoring throughout.

Coursework and case studies are required between the formal taught sessions. This enables students to develop skills and techniques and to grow in confidence and competence. Full support is provided by the tutor who also fosters a supportive ethos, encouraging students to support one another.

The College of Sound Healing Gong Practitioner Training Course© is a CMA-certificated training programme taught over five weekends, over the period of one year. The course is made up of 70 hours formal training, plus practise, coursework, case studies, reading and individual mentoring in-between sessions. 

Completing this course gives students the information, knowledge, tools and qualification to be a Gong Practitioner. You will be recognised as able to treat people in a therapeutic setting both on a one-to-one basis or in groups.

This Course was written for the College by Sheila Whittaker, who is the senior College Gong Tutor, and advisor to the College on all gong-related matters. ​ 

Working with the Gong is a powerful personal journey. The various learning and experience opportunities require time for students to assimilate. As this course is taught over a year, each student is able to learn and develop at their own pace. The non-rushed nature of this course also supports students on their own individual Healing journey with the Gong. Clearing our own emotional baggage and raising vibration is a prerequisite for helping others to do so and you will be fully supported as you undertake that challenging but deeply rewarding inner work.

Each participant will need access to their own Gong by the 2nd weekend and support in selecting the best Gong for you will be given during Session 1.
